If anyone is considering a drive up to Redondo Beach, veteran’s park to dive:

The beach itself is open to active sports, but not team sports. I’m sure scuba is fine. Details from the county website don’t say anything about scuba, but the following is allowed:

• Individual or family ocean activities (such as surfing, swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, body surfing)
• Individual or family active recreation & exercise (such as walking, running)

https://beaches.lacounty.gov/la-county-beach-rules/

Which includes the statement “Face coverings, when out of the water AND around others”, so you won’t need a mask to cross the beach to go diving as long as you stay out of crowds.

To reduce crowding, parking lots are still closed. The main lot at vets is closed. Street parking is open on both sides of the street near vets, which is not many spots. Freeth way, the little road with diagonal parking in front of vet’s park from the pier, is closed.

Some photos of the beach today:

For what it’s worth, conditions right now look pretty poor. More swell and wind than I would comfortably beach dive in, and red tide is still thick in patches.
