I hope this isn't too far off topic for this board. But this struck me so deeply that i think it may be worth discussing. Face it, every time we go to the beach or go on the water we may be faced with that chance encounter of a rare and delicate creature in need of help--i have had a few tearfull encounters..

What would each of of us do if confronted with a similar situation? I have absolutely no doubt that if there had been a scuba diver/ photographer present, that never would have been allowed to happen.. (GRAVITY kills) In this case NOT one person stood up and took charge!

About 6 years ago, i pried a green sea turtle that was stuck up against the intake grate in Alamitos bay. It is a long story, but i run a couple hundred yards down the way and yank the first sailboat mast off the rack!

..always on vigil~

because this should never happen..
