I was sad when construction began, but have been really pleased about the place. The trails to the water are much easier to negotiate, especially with a wagon. There is a fresh water shower and restrooms at the snack bar midway to the cove. There are reminders of Marineland in the hotel with names such as the Catalina Room, and Nelson's, the bar/restaurant named in honor of Lloyd Bridges' character has many photos from the Seahunt days.
Terranea owns the land down to the high tide mark, which means entering and exiting over the old rocks will always remain as it was, for better or worse.
