Merry and I went out on my friend Marc's boat today for a nice, sunny day of diving. We began our diving on the west side of Palos Verdes where the swells were a bit high. Marc had seen seven Giant Sea Bass here last week, so we were hoping to spot at least one. The visibility was 6-12 feet so it wasn't going to be easy. We found plenty of clams, shrimp and a male Sheephead, but no GSBs.
We then headed for the south side where it was nice and flat. We found some muddy water below ten feet, but it cleared to about 10-15' vis as I reached the sand. There wasn't much to see underwater but Marc managed to come home with six lobsters. Two guys on the beach won't be. Fish and Game wardens took their spearguns and game bags and had them in handcuffs for awhile before marching them up the stairs to their truck.
We ended the day by checking out the damage done to the Black Pearl during the filming of Pirates of the Caribbean 3. They have a lot of repairs to make if there is to be a part four.
