Hi there,

I'm looking for opinions on the DSS single-tank rig. I'm a purely recreational diver with no intent of going tech, but the streamlined nature of the setup, and the fact that I can take some of the weight off my belt is appealing (I dive with a 7mm wetsuit). Another thing that appeals to me about this specific setup is the low-pressure inflator hose release (it has a flared end to make it easier to release). This would be my first BC purchase, and I've only got about 20 dives under my belt. I know I should probably gain more experience before committing, but I'm getting tired of renting worn-out jacket BCs and would love to have one of my own. I'll be diving mostly locally, but also occasionally traveling as well.

Is this rig overkill for me? Of course, I plan to try this setup before I purchase it. I'm just hoping a more experienced diver can give me some opinions about whether or not it's right for a beginner like me.
