Yes, it was time. I used to say, after fruitful visits to The Green Buoy food locker: "There will eventually come a time when I can't do this (coldwater California lobster deep diving) any more, but today isn't that day." My poor back (read 3 ruptured disks this past summer) told me that today is in fact that day. So, it's time to learn to do macro video, which has fascinated me for a long time anyway. I have a Sony PDX10 video and a Light & Motion Bluefin housing, with the L&M macro lens. So far I'm finding that it is really very good equipment, except the light support arms seem pretty weak and occasionally fall over (usually at the worst possible moment, of course). Hence my interest, after reading Steve Barsky's latest book on underwater digital video, in aluminum arms.
