I dont think they see well, but they are very sensitive to vibrations and pressure waves.
However they see well enough that if you hit them with a light they will be spooked. Durring the day it is best to not use a light unless there is no other alternitave. If you go into a darker area, wait a few moments for your eyes to adjust before you go for the light.
