believe me, if i had to choose which was the more noble way to take a fish btwn angling and spearfishing, it would be the one who leaves the safety and security of the boat, gets IN the water and takes his game. My only problem with the spearos is that they usually take the biggest and the best of their targeted specie. Over time, that may have a more negetive impact on the gene pool than the randomness of angling. Of course, that is only speculation on my part...But there are records in spearfishing that exceed that of angling...

I also fault the IGFA for glorifying the killing of arguably the most superior genetic individual of every specie of so-called sport fish on earth...

my problem with your post is that you attempt to seamlessly blend the appreciation of simply viewing the Giants with the act of taking game for personal profit...

forgive me for saying so, but those two goals are not compatable...
