As the other post state, it maters what kind of dive your doing. Most of the time I use a H-valve on a h.p.100. I don't intend to run out of air, but a reg problems may happen. I also use a spare air on shallow dives (30-40 ft) as a backup. I also use a 13 cu.ft. as backup for bug hunting. If I'm wreck diving, a 30 cu.ft. pony is used. If your a solo diver, you should always have some kind of reliable backup. Stay safe.
