For my undwewater photo needs I now deal almost exclusivley with Marine Camera Distributors in San Diego. I usually deal with Tom becasue I value his advice. Anything I order gets delivered the next day.

If I was going to get a camera today I would get an Olympus 5050, even over the 5060 becasue it uses AA's not propietary batteries, and in use seems to be faster.

For the 5050 I would buy it locally. The Olympus housing for it I would buy from Sea Shooters

I am very happy with mt INON D-180 strobes.

Going the digital SLR route workd well, but will set you back quite a bit more cash (thousands). I also know people who have tried the digtial SLRs and then gone back to thier 5050s.

I use an Olympus D-40, which I like, but is not what I would buy today.

You can see examples at:
Curacao Thumbnails
Curacao Slideshow
San Miguel on the Peace
San Nicolas Island on the Great Escape

For most of thoose shots I also used an INON UWL-100 wide angle lens.
