I believe they were about 300 to 500 yards off shore. I met up with another group that was there, from Riverside area. They complained about the same.

Yes, I was there with a nite dive class.
The Harbor department also informed me that they are going to dredge King Harbor again.

If you think the explosive were bad. The last two times they dredge the harbor, it killed off the great marine life that use to be there. The put the dumping lines into the canyon, but the eddy current brought the polution back up. The rest is self explanitory of the problems that were created.

I remember seeing squid eggs from about 10 yards from the pier, top of the berm of the canyon to about 100 yards south, down to about 120ft depth, back in the 70's to early 80's.
