It doesn't take much time to stamp a date in a tank. If the expert hasn't taken the time to learn how to ID a tank, maybe he doesn't take the time to actually inspect and hydro the tank. There was a popular hydro company in OC which, not too long ago, was returning rusted and pitted tanks with a new hydro stamps on them. His turnaround times were great and he was beating the pants off the competition. Made the dive shops happy that way, too. $40, please.
