You don't need to be a good swimmer when you start
becoming a good SCUBA diver, but you sure become
a good swimmer sometime if you become a good SCUBA
diver.

I wasn't much of a swimmer when I entered my OW class,
but I was comfortable in the water if not fast. I've
gotten better. BTW, is was a Y class, I passed the
swim requirement on my back. kick, coast, kick,
coast. I caught up with a fair number of the
"fast" guys before the end. They were all panting.
