Santa Claus, maybe?

There was a guy on the Pacific Star Friday night wearing an expensive DUI RED dry-suit, with a Cocoran Genesis computer, diving solo on air, that was in the water a good half hour longer than the rest of us.

We were starting to think he was dead when we finally spotted his light.

All we can figure is that he must have swam in to 5' fsw and spent most of his time there. Anyway, he ran out of gas and had to do a long surface swim. He climbed back on the boat with a bag full of "shorts!" Everyone on board stood and watched as the DM measured and then made him chuck each bug over the side. His face was as red as the suit.

Initially we were all pretty impressed by his gear and the Ranger tab he had sown on to his BC harness, but he told me that he didn't finish the Nitrox class because he thought it was too long and involved I had my suspicions.

I don't suppose I'll be so impressed by expensive gear in the future.
