George, I think you missed my point. I advocate "bailout bottles" aka "pony" as a redundant air source as an alternative to doubles w/iso manifold system. This in conjunction with ESA, buddy breathing or share air as another option or tool that could be used to save lifes. Doubles are overkill for many dives but a bailout bottle of at least 13 cuft doesn't cost you very much in efficiency(drag/weight) and wouldn't hurt. Most divers that die run out of air!!! Why???
