Bob, for a unit that costs over five hundred bucks I don't think we should be expected to file the slots to prevent the harness from fraying. The webbing is el cheapo, period, as are the plastic buttons that secures the 50 dollar back pad to the plate. The system isn't Done Right Yet. I think most divers are rigidly adhering to the unit as constructed because they're intimidated by the GUE/DIR holistic mandate: do it their way or you're nothin' but a hopeless stroke. If that's the case, then you can call me Frank, the Stroke, Farmer. Sticks and stones may break my bones, but Trey will never hurt me.
