As a new drysuit diver, I was given the same advise, to start with the valve open. As I got comfortable, to start closing it a bit, until I found "my comfort zone". Right now, I'm about 3/4 open. I twist and turn alot too, taking pics, but don't seem to have much of an inadvertant dump problem.

PS: been a bit since my last post. came home from a 2 day dive trip to find my house flooded. A washing machine hose broke. For those who care, you may want to check/replace hoses. Mine were just under 10 years old. Not a fun thing to walk into dead tired at 10:00pm. Thanks motel 6 for taking pets!
