Dive Report: Heisler Park, Laguna Beach, Sunday June 11th, 2017 |
Posted by J. Reeb on June 13, 2017 at 20:50:00: Despite the June Gloom five of us headed out to HP Sunday morning. There was a surface swell in the 2+ range but we determined it was still dive-able. Out on the reef it was dark, like a night dive, as the kelp canopy, June Gloom and green aqua bloom conspired to block out most of the available light. Regardless, we managed a long and peaceful tour of the reef as the water column was surge free. Didn't see the Tope shark like last time, instead we had Sheephead patrolling the outer perimeter of our lights. It was pleasure to be part of a dive team with great dynamics as we kept in close contact throughout the low light dive; a tribute to the skill of my dive mates.
