McKinleyville, Calif. -- The U.S. Coast Guard suspended the search for Kawika Chetron Monday evening at sunset .

After three solid days of searching the Coast Guard search and rescue units found no trace of Kawika Chetron after locating his vessel "Rapture" at anchor late Saturday evening. The search area that originally covered the surrounding Cape Mendocino coastline based on data from multiple Datum Marker Buoy's (DMB), was ultimately expanded to over 40 miles offshore, south to Fort Bragg. Coast Guard units based as far south as San Diego and as far inland as Sacramento were used in the search.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Kawika Chetron's family during this time.
