There is an on going study of approx. 30 years done by the a joint cooperation of the CMA and CSULB. If you are familiar with studies, a 2 year one is big. A 30 year one is incredible.

The study measures life in the rocky tidal zone. It showed a severe, no disastrous decline of nearly all tide-pool creatures around 1978.

I participated a few years ago and don't remember details, but there is a mild comeback of some species. Bat stars and a few others. However I do recall at the time that the ab population measured was ZERO for years.

If you have seen them please document it and report the info to Mike Schaadt at the CMA Aquarium.
