Please don't get me wrong. I am a firm believer of education and training especially with life support. The individual needs to be responsable for their life and if diving with a buddy their life. My dealings with DIR members have been few and negative. When I first started visiting these internet sites. I was really turned off by many posts on several sites by DIR divers and their diving dogma. I was also turned off by the rude behavior I witnessed from some DIR divers in Florida. I would be happy to read or see something positive for a change.

My opinion no doubt would be very different. If I were into cave or wreck diving. It is my decision for my safety. I do NO overhead diving. My golden rule is not to dive into a place. That I cannot get myself out of by myself without scuba. Personally I believe divers that do deep penetration of caves and wrecks. Just a little bit crazy. Regardless how much training you have. You are still rolling the dice on these kind of dives.
