Kyle,

The cold water is best for our u/w ecosystem; it's warm water that disrupts the kelp biosphere. Last w/e it was 51 degrees at depth - lots of critters/fish.

The recent rains (unusual for So Cal this late in the year) have resulted in run-off and a red tide that is very early.
