Club Cantamar is good, but it really depends on what your interests are. If you stay with them, it's a good 15-20 minute drive into town if you want to go out to dinner. They're kind of isolated with not much around. They are closer to the good beach areas of El Tecolote and beyond, if that's important to you or non-divers in your party. The diving with Club Cantamar is done mostly from a larger (and much slower) vessel than most day boats in the area. They are located and depart from the commercial portion of the bay, and while this is closer to the majority of dive sites, it is also somewhat less aesthetically pleasing, if that's important to you.

Another option to consider is staying at the La Concha Beach Resort and diving with the Cortez Club, which is located immediately adjacent to the property. Cortez Club has probably the fastest and newest fleet in the area. Good boats that get you out there and back quickly and comfortably, 6-pacs for the most part. If you are looking to dive Nitrox or rebreathers, the Cortez Club has all this available. And after returning from your day's diving, the attached Sunset Bar is also a good place to continue your decompression.

La Concha is not as new as Cantamar, but still very comfortable by Baja standards; nice pool areas and surprisingly good food. It's much closer to town, although not really within walking distance.

There are a few other good options if you want to stay directly in town. E-mail me if you have any specific questions, but check out the internet for more info, including the following websites:
