How is Mel? Why don't you tell the rest of the world about his secret spot at Eagle? Oops, I guess I might have let the cat out of the bag.

As for the "17 pounder". The last I heard the CA State official record for lobster was 16lbs, 1 oz. All of us have heard the stories about 16 to 20 pound lobsters. I have seen pictures of lobsters taken by trappers around the turn of the century that appear to be in the 20 lb. venue. I have statistics on lobsters over ten pounds for the past 15 or 20 years including size vs weight info. I would be very surprised to see convincing evidence of a "17 pounder".
