I read the other day this month's Rodale's which had a survey of approx. 2400 diver's. I don't have the copy handy so my numbers may be off a bit, but the survey asked recreational diver's on the Rodales board how deep did they consider deep diving and how deep had they been. The ranges were from above 100', 100'-130', 130-160', 160-200' and 200'+..

What struck me as strange, given the recreational nature of the sampling, was that approx. 35% of those surveyed indicated a depth of 165' so it got me curious as to what a representative sample of our local BBS would consider deep...

For my purposes I consider anything beyond 100' deep and would never consider doing 100'+ on anything other than trimix, so what do you guys/girls think is deep??? Maybe a better way to put it, is what is the deepest you would consider going on air and part 2, would your answer change if you were diving trimix????
