A friend of mine owns an offshore fishing company that is profitable enough he can pay a crew to do the fishing. He has made some wise investments in the stockmarket and spends his days lobster trapping and puttering around his property.

Anywho ... he asked me to drop into the Piscataqua River this past weekend and free some of his lobster traps that were caught on various underwater hazards. For those who are not aware, the Piscataqua River, between NH and ME, is one of the fastest and powerful tidal rivers in the world when it is full bore. (it is that power and speed that ultimately lead to the border dispute between
NH and Maine-achusetts) A drift diver's fantasy, or night-mare, depending on your confidence, or insanity, level and knowledge of the river.

My reward for 35 minutes in a 2.5-3 knot (nowhere close to full
throttle) current and 5 foot vis was 10 lobster.

Yummmmmm.

Eat well, dive safe.
