Mike, I have the impression that the most anticipated, pre-planned diving emergency for a DIR diving team is running out of air and that's why the importance of necklaced alternate 2nd's and 7'long primary 2nd's. Given that a true DIR team is trained and experienced, in what possible situation would one team member go completely OOA and his/her team buddy have enough air left to share back to the surface? Isn't that scenario very unlikely? I ask this for further enlightenment of the DIR system, not to inflame.
