the lymphatic system consists of a network of veins with one-way valves. The veins converge into two main trunks which then empty into the subclavian veins. It would be interesting to see if gas bubbles could accumulate to high enough levels to "blow out" the one-way valves.

Where did you run across this theory? Also, when are you running a DIR fundamentals course in OC next?
