I too experienced an earthquake U/W. Several years ago diving off Topanga, I felt/heard a low vibration. Not at all like engine noise, but like a low frequency humming. At the same time the light silt and sediment rose from the seafloor like a low fog creating a silt cloud about 6-9 inched deep across the bottom. As the vibration declined the silt settled back to the bottom. Back at the launch ramp we learned of a 3+ quake in the south end (Redondo Canyon?) of the bay.

It's interesting the way these differernt quakes are preceived in these different locations. Of course there are numerous variables - size of quake, distance from quake, type of geologic event, geological makeup of an area, and so on. Would water depth effect the way such an event was experienced by a diver?

Also, Redondo this morning 25-35 foot visibility down to 115 fsw. Parking still available at 09:00 Good conditions, nice day.
