of all aspects of diving here and we have had some heated debates on this board. What I object to is the criticism of another diver's actions in a self-annointed role of "scuba police".

The fact is, it is not illegal to dive solo, below 130 feet, or with a backpack, for that matter. The certification agencies recommend buddy diving, a recreational limit of 130 feet and the use of a BCD. Each of the those recommendations has its merits and rationale, but no one is going to get fined, put in jail, or have their certification revoked if they choose to ignore those recommendations.

If you want to get into a discussion of the 130 foot limit, do so, but don't flame me or anyone else for our actions. I'll dive with Elaine, Ross-O anytime, anywhere.
